Challenger Learning Center-St. Louis Celebrates Space Day 2007
A special evening with Grace Corrigan, mother of Christa McAuliffe
Space Day was created as an
educational initiative to inspire young people to explore careers
in mathematics, science, engineering and technology and to realize
the vision of our space pioneers. Space Day 2007 is Friday, May 4.
The Space Day educational initiative was founded in 1997 and this
year’s theme is “50 Years in Space…And Still Havin’ A
Blast!”
The Challenger Learning Center-St. Louis is celebrating Space Day
2007 with a special evening event on Thursday, May 3. From 6 to
8:00 p.m., Grace Corrigan, the mother of Christa McAuliffe will
talk about her daughter’s life and experience as the first educator
astronaut. She will include photos and will also be on-hand after
her presentation to sign her book, “A Journal for
Christa.”
The Challenger Learning Center-St. Louis is part of the Challenger
Center for Space Science Education, which is an international
not-for-profit education organization founded in April 1986 by the
families of the astronauts tragically lost during the Challenger
space shuttle mission.
The Challenger Learning Center-St. Louis, brought to this area
through a regional partnership between the Ferguson-Florissant
School District, the St. Louis Science Center and the Cooperating
School Districts, is part of a growing network of more than 50
centers across the U.S., Canada and United Kingdom. Challenger
Learning Center-St. Louis is located at 205 Brotherton Lane in
