Singapore Ministry of Education Pays a Visit to CSD
It was east meets west during a recent visit to the Cooperating School Districts (CSD) by the Singapore Ministry of Education (MOE). On June 27, six Singapore delegates paid CSD a visit to receive a better understanding of how area school districts benefit from its many services.
The objectives of the three-hour meeting focused on CSD’s Virtual Learning Center. Specifically they discussed ways to integrate technology into respective classrooms, videoconferencing, funding, and enrichment programs. The Singapore delegates also heard from each of CSD’s divisions, including professional development, legislative/communications, and business services.
The Singapore Ministry of Education representatives in attendance specialize in language and computer curriculums. The MOE reaches out to 300,000 students in Singapore, which is the same number of students that CSD provides services to in the St. Louis Metropolitan Area.
