Register Now for Summer Technology Classes
CSD Virtual Learning Center offering 11 new classes
The Cooperating School Districts’ Virtual Learning Center (VLC) is now taking registrations for summer technology classes.
The VLC Tele Lab has been equipped with brand new computers that offer participants the choice of using a Windows or Macintosh platform. The instructional focus is on student outcomes and developing 21st Century skills. These classes provide teachers with:
- hands-on activities,
- focus on student outcomes,
- skill building time,
- time to create usable lesson plans with newly acquired technology skills.
Summer class topics include: Google Earth, Internet Safety and Literacy, Differentiated Scoring, Concept Mapping, Interactive Whiteboards SMARTboard and Promethean Activboard, Podcasting and Movie-Making.
New this summer are six new classes created especially for the Macintosh user that focuses on the iLife suite – iPhoto, iMovie, iDVD, iWeb, and GarageBand. A detailed list of classes may be found at: www2.csd.org/tele
Participants may maximize their summer professional development experience by taking advantage of graduate credit opportunity through Lindenwood University. In addition to attending class, participants develop a lesson plan that incorporates the technology learned.
