CSD Congratulates Distinction in Performance Honorees
35 CSD member districts earn award for academic achievement and progress
The Cooperating School Districts of Greater St. Louis, Inc.
(CSD) congratulates 35 of its member school districts for earning
Distinction in Performance recognition.
Overall, 319 school districts statewide, earned the coveted award.
Distinction in Performance is based on the 14 academic performance
standards that are the basis of the state’s accreditation for all
school districts. The standards are based on scores from the
state-mandated MAP tests, graduation rate, attendance, ACT scores
and other criteria.
The 319 school districts, include 266 K-12 districts and 53 K-8
districts. There are 523 public school districts in the state,
enrolling a total of 900,000 students. To qualify for the award
this year, K-8 districts had to meet six out of seven performance
standards that apply to these districts, including all of those
that are based on the results of the MAP tests. K-12 school
districts had to meet 13 of 14 standards, including all of the
MAP-based measures.
“We congratulate our member districts that have achieved
Distinction in Performance this year,” said Dr. John Urkevich,
CSD’s executive director. “This is an accomplishment that shows
hard work and a dedication to excellence from everyone in a school
district.”
The Distinction in Performance award provides a yearly confirmation
of a district’s status and state-level recognition of its overall
performance.
CSD will once again honor its member school districts that have
received the Distinction in Performance award during a special
banquet. The event will take place on May 4, 2010 at the Maritz
Corporation Theater in Fenton.
